New Caledonia: War dance

The inhabitants of New Caledonia, a Pacific Island east of Australia, are French citizens. One might be surprised to see that people with normal jobs such as farmers, clerks or craftsmen maintain the tribal tradition alive in performing ritual war dances.

The aim of such fierce dances is to fill the mind with anger before going into warfare.
