A few sequences of the daily life of the Onges on Little Andaman are shown in this video. The peculiar Andamanese greeting ceremony at the end of the sequence, beside its ritual significance, was the expression of a sudden overwhelming feeling of affection. The ceremony itself had the function of affirming and strengthening the social bond of friendship between individuals and groups.
